The Highest Level of Technical Training
For 15 years, Stefan V. Ramaekers developed and delivered Toyota and Lexus' most advanced technical training programmes across Europe. These exclusive High-Tech Diagnostic Training courses were reserved for the network's most experienced technicians and technical problem solvers, operating beyond the Master Technician certification level.
From Theory to Real-World Diagnostics
Each four-day programme was personally developed and delivered by Stefan, combining advanced theoretical knowledge with intensive hands-on diagnostic workshops. The objective was to provide participants with a deep understanding of how complex vehicle systems function, allowing them to diagnose faults through system knowledge rather than relying solely on diagnostic tools or fault codes.
Solving Problems Beyond the Workshop Manual
Unlike conventional technical training, these programmes focused on real-world diagnostic challenges that technicians encountered in the field. Many of the exercises were based on faults that generated no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and could not be solved by simply following repair procedures.
Participants learned to interpret symptoms, analyse system behaviour, perform logical measurements and identify root causes using structured diagnostic strategies. This approach developed the analytical mindset required to solve the most complex technical cases.
Six Specialist Disciplines
The High-Tech Diagnostic Training programme was divided into six specialist disciplines, each focusing on a different area of advanced vehicle technology:
Gasoline Engine Systems
Diesel Engine Systems
Hybrid Electric Vehicle Systems
Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH)
Multiplex Communication & Vehicle Networks
Suspension & Chassis Systems
Raising the Standard Across Europe
Technicians from Toyota and Lexus organisations throughout Europe attended these intensive programmes before returning to their respective markets. The knowledge and diagnostic methods acquired during the training improved first-time fix rates, reduced diagnostic time and enabled participants to solve technical issues that extended far beyond standard workshop procedures.
These programmes became recognised as the highest level of diagnostic education within Toyota Motor Europe, helping to strengthen technical expertise across the entire European dealer network.
